I see the Australian land as a profoundly feminine force — life-giving, self-renewing, scarred but never defeated. It is a place where regeneration is not a metaphor, but a lived, cyclical truth. This understanding shaped the Eucalyptus Knuckle Ring — a sculptural work rooted in the psyche of the land itself.
The eucalyptus tree — a native icon — regenerates through fire. Its seed pods, or gumnuts, respond to catastrophe by releasing the next generation. I’ve embedded Australian opals inside those forms — tiny water-like stones — holding the potential of life in dormancy, awaiting the right moment to bloom.
