THE ARTIST
THE STORY
Evgeniya Lisichkina - founder of Jane Ju - is a Sydney-based contemporary jewellery artist creating narrative-driven wearable sculpture. Drawing on an international background in art, fashion design and journalism, her practice occupies the space where art, organic sculpture, and bodily adornment intersect.
Trained in silversmithing at Gaffa Gallery and post-graduated in design at the Whitehouse Institute of Design, her work is deeply informed by the fluid minimalism of suibokuga (Japanese ink painting) and the raw, transformative ecology of the Australian landscape.
She approaches each work as an intimate artefact—shaping metal and non-calibrated gemstones into forms that reflect cycles of natural renewal, memory, and tactile interaction.
In 2022 she created bespoke jewellery collection for Amazon Studios series The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart, drawing on the forms and symbolism of Native Australian flowers.
Her work has been featured in international publications, included in "Best Russian Artists: Decorative and Applied Arts", and selected as a finalist in the PROFILE2025 Contemporary Jewellery Awards.
She has been a member of the Australian Fashion Council since 2018,
and a member of Jewellers and Metalsmith Group of Australia/NSW since 2024.

THE CREDO
Organic Imperfection & Material Truth
I work primarily with non-calibrated, freeform, and hand-carved gemstones— Australian opals, local sapphires, and baroque pearls—letting the organic geometry of the raw material dictate the architecture of the setting. No two forms are ever repeated.
Dialogue with Nature & Ink
Inspired by *suibokuga*—the art of capturing essence through restraint and bold, deliberate strokes—my metalwork translates the spontaneous energy of brushwork into hand-sculpted silver and gold. The focus is not on symmetry, but on gesture, balance, and mood. Provenance & Sustainability
Every piece is individually handcrafted in Sydney using Australian silver and ethically sourced gems. Grounded in a commitment to slow, deliberate production, packaging and studio practices are kept strictly minimal, sustainable, and true to the land.
